Top 5 Food and Drink Apps in Germany, Q3 2021

In Q3 2021, the top food and drink apps in Germany showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at the trends for Lieferando.de, McDonald’s Germany, Burger King Deutschland, Too Good To Go: End Food Waste, and EDEKA.

Lieferando.de saw weekly downloads fluctuate between approximately 62K and 77K, with a noticeable dip towards the end of August. Active users remained relatively stable around 900K, peaking at nearly 1M at the start of the quarter.

McDonald’s Germany had a strong performance in weekly downloads, starting at around 63K and peaking at 93K in early September. Active users showed a slight increase, starting at 926K and reaching over 1M by early August, before settling back to around 900K by the end of September.

Burger King Deutschland experienced steady weekly downloads, ranging from 32K to 42K. Active users saw some fluctuation, starting at 582K and peaking at 639K in early August, before dipping to approximately 544K in mid-September.

Too Good To Go: End Food Waste had weekly downloads ranging from about 27K to 37K, with a consistent performance throughout the quarter. Active users started strong at 985K but saw a decline to around 770K by mid-September, before rebounding to 943K at the end of the quarter.

EDEKA showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 19K and peaking at 30K by the end of August. Active users also increased steadily from 178K to over 200K by the end of September.
